Blue King Brown
This was my first time seeing this Australian power house. The six-piece band blended Afro-beat, Reggae, World and Latin influences into the music they performed on July 1st at Venue as one of the headline artists at the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival. After taking the stage the first bunch of songs were a rocking, reggae mix, and jazzy. The band’s music was high energy fused with socially conscious messages that had the crowd dancing and clapping throughout the stellar concert.
The lead singer talked of Conscious community and this crowd couldn’t agree with her more. This was one of the best performances I saw during the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
