In the small theatre  “Whiskey Bars” played to a packed house as part of the Vancouver Fringe Festival.  This was a well-played out one man show by Playwright and actor Bremner Duthie who has a big, bold voice. It’s about an alcoholic cabaret singer trying to make a comeback, it’s a cabaret with the songs of Kurt Weill he sings. Who is Kurt Weill you may be wondering before or after seeing this show, Kurt Weill was born in Desau, Germany in 1900, the son of a synagogue cantor, at a young age his musical legacy was enormous.

Featuring music from across Weill’s extra-ordinary career with 10 powerful songs embedded into a effective dramatic and comedic story that uses the best traditions of European Cabaret.
