I recently spent some time in one of my favourite American cities, New York City exploring some of their cafes for delicious baked goods and coffees.

Ole and Steen is a Danish bakery cafe chain from Denmark and I loved their Savoury swirl with spinach, cheese and seeds; Cinnamon Social – sweet pastry with cinnamon, vanilla custard and icing; Vanilla Spandauer – flakey pastry with vanilla custard and their coffee, had a Cortado.

Culture Espresso had delicious cookies as well. I had a cortado at this cafe located around the corner from my hotel that was close to Bryant Park.

Michaeli Bakery when I was in New York, it’s kosher and located on the Upper East Side at 401 E 90th St, All the baking looked great and we couldn’t try one of everything so we got a selection of sweets and savouries to go which we devoured for a couple of days. As it was close to Purim, we picked up some Hamantaschen and my favourites were the halvah, chocolate and poppy filled. We also got some of their Chocolate rugelach, a spinach bureka and some other cookies.

Devocian located in Brooklyn was a favourite that features 100% Colombian coffee and baking and a very cool vibe, here I had a Nitro cold brew.

Blank Street is a recent newcomer to the coffee space set to grow exponentially from New York internationally, I visited one of their cafes on 5th Avenue for a Cortado.

Blue Bottle Coffee is a national chain with a cafe across from Bryant Park where I got a Cold brew coffee to go.

The city is full of amazing cafes, in addition to the ones I have featured here, keep a look out for ones that you may find along the way.
